Knowledge, awareness and practice of menstrual hygiene and attitude towards menstruation in rural area
In Indian society, menstruation is usually regarded as impure. A negative attitude towards this condition has been perpetuated by the isolation of menstruating girls and the limitations placed on them in the household. Women continue to be unaware of the scientific facts and sanitary health practices, which can occasionally have a negative impact on their health, because menstruation and menstrual practices remain shrouded in taboos and socio-cultural constraints. During menstruation, it is crucial to practise good hygiene habits including using sanitary pads and washing the vaginal area thoroughly.
