Analysis of Forced Vibrations in Foundry Equipment and Its Impact on Casting Quality

In foundry operations, forced vibrations are common due to the operation of mechanical shakers, vibratory feeders, and compaction systems. These vibrations can significantly influence both the process efficiency and the quality of castings. This study aims to investigate the effects of forced vibrations on various foundry components, including molds, core boxes, and compaction tables. Through experimental analysis and simulation, the dynamic response of equipment to harmonic excitation is evaluated. The study also explores the resonance phenomena in foundry setups and proposes design modifications and damping solutions to minimize undesirable vibration effects. The findings help in optimizing equipment performance, reducing defects in castings, and improving workplace safety. This research contributes to better control and predictability in foundry processes, essential for high-precision manufacturing.

These vibrations can significantly influence both the process efficiency and the quality of castings. This study aims to investigate the effects of forced vibrations on various foundry components, including molds, core boxes, and compaction tables.
