Systematic Review: Role of Structured Training in the Field of Laparoscopy
Abstract The evolution of laparoscopic surgery has necessitated advanced training paradigms to ensure surgeons acquire the necessary proficiency and skill sets. Structured training programs have emerged as a cornerstone for bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. This review synthesizes existing evidence on the methodologies, outcomes, and challenges of structured laparoscopic training programs. The findings emphasize that these programs significantly enhance technical skills, reduce learning curves, and improve patient outcomes. However, challenges such as high costs, limited access, and variability in implementation remain critical barriers. Future innovations, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR), promise to redefine the landscape of surgical education.
