Advancements in Retail Queue Management: A Comprehensive Review with Focus on Spencer's Retail

Abstract: The study provides an assessment of developments in retail queue management, highlighting the tactics utilised by Spencer's Retail in India. An examination of existing literature underscores the inadequacies of conventional queue systems and the increasing demand for technological advancements. The research utilises quantitative techniques, such as M/M/1 queue models and Monte Carlo simulations, to assess the effects of different queue management tactics on customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The analysis is based on data gathered from Spencer’s outlets in West Bengal to determine the most successful ways for minimising wait times. The results demonstrate that the integration of real-time data and simulation techniques markedly improves queue management efficacy. The research shows that implementing modern queue management solutions optimises operational efficiency and improves customer experience, hence positioning Spencer’s Retail competitively in the Indian market. Keywords: Retail Queue Management, Spencer's Retail, Customer Satisfaction, Operational Efficiency, M/M/1 Queue Models
