Enhancing Nanoantenna Performance Using Hybrid Gold-Silver Nanoparticles for Improved Surface Plasmon Resonance in Energy Harvesting Applications
Abstract: Nano-antennas utilizing surface plasmon resonance (SPR) have garnered significant attention for energy harvesting applications due to their ability to enhance light absorption at the nanoscale. While gold and silver nanoparticles exhibit unique plasmonic properties, their practical implementation faces challenges—gold suffers from intrinsic damping losses, whereas silver is prone to oxidation, reducing efficiency. This study explores hybrid gold-silver nanoparticles as a solution to these limitations, demonstrating their potential to enhance SPR effects, optimize absorption and scattering cross-sections, and improve overall nano-antenna performance. Additionally, a circuit model of these nano-antennas is presented, providing insights into impedance matching and efficiency optimization for energy harvesting applications [1]-[3].
