Amphinemura multispina

Amphinemura multispina (Wu, 1973) (Fig. 5) Nemoura multispina Wu, 1973: 104. Type locality: China: Sichuan (Emei Mountain) (original description). Amphinemura multispina: Baumann 1975: 12 (list); Yang et al. 2015: 232 (male description); Li et al. 2018a: 157 (new record in Shaanxi Province). Adult habitus. General body color light brown to yellowish-brown. Head dark brown; antennae yellow-brown; palpi light brown; maxillary palpi pale brown; mouthparts pale yellow; thorax brown; compound eyes black. Pronotum yellow-brown to brown, without wrinkles or markings, rectangular with rounded corners, narrower than the head. Legs yellow to yellow-brown. Wings light brown, membranous, subhyaline, and glossy; veins brown (Fig. 5a). Female. Adult length 4.7–5.9 mm, forewing length 5.6–6.1 mm, hind wing length 4.6–5.1 mm (n = 3). Sternum 7 produced as a subpentagonal pregenital plate, covering anterior area of sternum 8; the plate is light brown (Fig. 5a). Sternum 8 (Figs. 5a–b) forms a pair of brown, well sclerotized, wing-shaped subgenital plates with a distinct posterior notch, tip sharp. Paragenital plate small, paired, and dark brown. Sternum 9 trapezoidal and sclerotized. There is a membranous and narrow tunnel between the sclerites, with a light bulb-shaped sclerite medially which connected with the spermathecal duct. The genital opening is broad (Figs. 5b–d). Paraprocts and cerci brown. Material examined. 3 females, CHINA: Hunan Province, Shaoyang City, Zhai Shi Miao and Dong Nationality Township, Suining County, Huangsang Village, N26.43°, E110.05°, 460m, 2021.V.25–29, leg. Yongjie Wang; 1 male, 1 female, CHINA: Hubei Province, Shennongjia, Muyu Town, N31.63°, E109.99°, 1089m, 2023.VI.6, leg. Xingnong Xu. Distribution. China (Hubei, Hunan, Shaanxi, Sichuan). Remarks. This species was originally described based on male specimens from Emeishan Mountain, Baoguo Temple, Sichuan Province. In our study, we recorded this species based on male and female specimens from Hubei Province and female specimens from Hunan Province, which represent the first record of this species in those two provinces.
