The article examines the means of restoring monuments of history and culture of Ukraine damaged and destroyed during the Russian-Ukrainian war. During the rocket and bomb attacks of the Russian invaders on the territory of Ukraine, unique examples of the historical buildings of many cities, architectural structures of different eras, and monumental works of outstanding artists were plundered. Museum collections and monuments were stolen and taken away by the occupiers. All these challenges encourage Ukrainians to realize the need to restore the damaged cultural heritage, which is the basis of the nation’s self-identity. Understanding that state institutions do not have sufficient resources to restore all the destroyed objects of cultural heritage of Ukraine, it is necessary to develop ways of solving urgent issues regarding the restoration of historical objects at the expense of other sources. Therefore, the expe-rience of financial support in the field of preservation of cultural heritage in foreign countries should be taken into account. The experience of countries with a market economy, which widely attract private capital to finance projects in the field of culture, is important in the conditions of Ukraine’s current situation. The implementation of plans for the preservation of the cultural heritage of the countries of Western Europe and America depends on the presence of legal mechanisms and financial benefits that exist in society and stimulate the investment of funds in the “non-profit” sphere. This activity also requires the presence of a developed infrastructure of organizations that take care of the problems of ethnic, ecological and cultural development of society. Keywords: cultural heritage, destroyed monuments, public associati-ons, foreign countries.
