Open Science Learning Gate

The Open Science Learning Gate (GATE) is a transformative initiative that will support the future of Open Science education. It has been developed to meet the needs of 12 different target groups of the research process practicing Open Science by promoting effective training and harmonising Open Science standards over time. The GATE asks Open Science trainers to provide their expertise on Open Science guidelines for specific target groups and, vice versa, visualises guidelines suggested by other trainers based on majority naming. The collection of the Open Science guidelines most frequently mentioned by the research community is continuously evaluated and trainers are informed about changes (e.g. changed relevance or emergence of new guidelines). This allows trainers to keep their materials and knowledge up to date, to obtain a badge for their materials by aligning them with current Open Science standards and to be named as authors of high-quality Open Science trainings the the GATE's annual Reports. The development of the Open Science principles is published annually in official GATE Reports (first end of 2025).
