Swara Yoga: A Historical, Philosophical, and Scientific Analysis
Swara Yoga (also called Svara Yoga) is an ancient tantric science based on the control of breath, where the flow of air through the nostrils is observed to achieve self-realization. This research paper explores the historical background of Swara Yoga with reference to the Shiva Swarodaya text, its philosophical connection with Advaita Vedanta, prana theory, and metaphysical elements, the rules and psycho-physiological effects of nasal breathing, its practical applications in meditation, therapy, and decision-making in daily life. A comparative analysis with modern scientific studies in neurology and physiology is also presented. The study concludes that Swara Yoga is a profound system that aligns ancient spiritual insights with modern scientific understanding.
