Analisi numerica del processo di calandratura di lamiere di alto spessore in acciaio

In this thesis, the rolling process of steel sheet metal has been analysed. The analysis was based on "Dino 9000T" rolling machine, made by Walter Tosto S.p.A., with the purpose to achieve a full numerical simulation of the process and then analyse the results. The metal sheet rolling process is used a lot to produce components and equipments for different kinds of industries in the chemical, the Oil and Gas, the naval and the aerospace fields. The process can produce big cylindrical metal sheets or also steel components with different shapes, but during the manufacture a lot of defects could occur, like: conical shapes and displacements in the cross direction. To avoid this defects the numerical simulation could be very important and in particular, in this task the finite element analysis using Ansys Mechanical APDL has been used both to simulate the full manufacture of a steel metal sheet with real dimensions and materials and analyse stresses and strains due to the rolling process.
