A CLINICAL CASE OF MEASLES IN A TEENAGER: A NON-COMPLICATED TYPICAL FORM OF THE DISEASE
Measles is a highly contagious viral infection that remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, despite the availability of an effective vaccine. This article presents the clinical case of a 15-year-old male patient diagnosed with measles, complicated by pneumonia, characterized by a characteristic rash, high fever, cough, conjunctivitis, and respiratory distress. The patient was previously vaccinated according to the national vaccination schedule and had no recent history of contact with infectious individuals. The case report includes a detailed clinical presentation, diagnostic workup, treatment, and outcomes, as well as a review of the recent literature on measles epidemiology, pathogenesis, and clinical management. This case emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis, the role of vaccination, and the management of complications in measles, including pneumonia.
