Şeffaflık Toplumunda Özgürlük Problemi
Factors influencing the transformation of societies also alter people's emotions, thoughts, relationships, and lifestyles. The development of new tools and techniques, geographical and climatic changes, religious beliefs, and wars contribute to this process of change. Throughout human history, there have been significant shifts in the ways emotions, thoughts, and meanings are produced; the most recent and profound change began with the Industrial Revolution and has continued with rapidly advancing technological developments. This process has led to the transformation of industrial society into a consumer society, and then into a society dominated by cyber networks. Contemporary societies are defined by concepts such as consumer society, spectacle society, individualized society, surveillance society, and transparency society. These definitions are used to conduct social analyses in the context of human relationships and individual meaning-making processes, evaluating the current situation from different perspectives. This study will examine these definitions of contemporary societies, focusing particularly on Byung-Chul Han's analysis of the "transparency society," and will address the issue of human freedom within this society. After discussing the conceptual debates on the problem of freedom, the concept of the transparency society will be explained, and the issue of freedom in this context will be evaluated.
