Measuring the Mechanical Properties of Fibre Reinforced Hydrogels Using Volume Controlled Cavitation

This dataset supports a study investigating the use of volume-controlled cavitation rheology to characterize the local mechanical behavior of fiber-reinforced poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogels. It includes raw and processed data from cavitation and tensile tests on both solid and polyester-thread-reinforced hydrogels. The dataset contains pressure–stretch curves, fitted parameters for Yeoh and Holzapfel-Gasser-Ogden (HGO) constitutive models, and validation metrics that highlight the ability of cavitation rheology to resolve both isotropic and anisotropic material responses. These findings demonstrate the method’s potential for probing matrix–fiber interactions in engineered soft materials. The research was conducted under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (Grant No. 101067240).

Abstract
