ENHANCING LEXICAL SOCIOCULTURAL SKILLS IN NON-LINGUISTIC MAJORS AT UNIVERSITIES

With the coming entry of Ukraine into the European space, and the development and strengthening of international relations with foreign countries, there is a need for people who are fluent in foreign languages. The implementation of this social task requires professional training of people who communicate in a foreign language with representatives of other countries. Since changes in the political life of the country affect education, the development of lexical sociocultural competence becomes one of the priority areas in teaching a foreign language for non-linguistic specialties in higher education. The ability to behave adequately and represent your country at the appropriate level is important in intercultural communication, since understanding the characteristics of the culture, beliefs and worldview of a native speaker, and therefore similarities or differences between the phenomena of native and foreign culture, can significantly facilitate and simplify communication.
