ROLUL BACTERIOFAGILOR ÎN REDUCEREA MOBILITĂȚII CAUZATE DE MICROORGANISME REZISTENTE

Summary. Bacteriophages are viruses of bacteria. Since the discovery of bacteriophages, their practical application in the prevention and treatment of infections has faced challenges that have made antibiotics more suitable for combating infectious pathology. Thanks to new sequencing technologies that provide new insight into the nature of bacteriophages, their application has a second chance to be used. Bacteriophages play an important role in the modern era of biotechnology and antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. The rapid increase in bacterial resistance to antimicrobials, leading to high levels of morbidity, mortality and economic costs, initiated the renaissance of phage therapy that began a century ago.Key words: bacteriophages, phage therapy, resistant microorganisms.
