Impact of Workplace Happiness on Business Performance in the Indian Banking Sector
Abstract: This study investigates the relationship between workplace happiness and business performance, specifically within the Indian banking sector. Despite growing awareness of employee well-being’s significance, the mechanisms through which workplace happiness translates into organizational success are not well understood, particularly in India. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative data from employee surveys with qualitative insights from managerial interviews, offering a comprehensive analysis. The findings indicate a strong positive correlation between workplace happiness and business performance, with employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention serving as critical mediators. Moreover, the study identifies age as a moderating factor, showing a stronger correlation among younger employees. These results highlight the strategic importance of fostering a positive work environment as a means to enhance business outcomes. The implications are significant for policymakers, HR professionals, and business leaders aiming to drive organizational success through employee well-being. Future research should explore the influence of digital innovation on workplace happiness.
