The aim of this literature review is to comprehensively examine the current advancements in the development and application of neural organoids as models for personalized neurosurgical treatments. By reviewing existing research, the project seeks to evaluate the efficacy of neural organoids in simulating patient-specific brain conditions, such as epilepsy and neurodegenerative disorders, and their potential in improving surgical precision and outcomes. The review will also explore the role of neural organoids in high-throughput drug screening, gene therapy testing, and regenerative medicine, while highlighting the challenges and ethical considerations associated with their use. Ultimately, the goal is to provide a thorough understanding of how neural organoids are transforming personalized medicine in neurosurgery and to identify future directions for research and clinical applications.
