IMPLEMENTING COGNITIVE-BASED EDUCATIONAL STRATEGIES IN ISLAMIC STUDIES: A NOVEL APPROACH TO PREPARING FUTURE EDUCATORS
This research introduces a fresh perspective on preparing future educators by exploring the use of cognitive approach-based teaching strategies within Islamic sciences. The cognitive approach plays a pivotal role in Islamic sciences, particularly in shaping strategies to enhance the methodological competencies of future educators. The study’s primary aim is to assess the impact of cognitive strategies in instructional processes and to explore how these strategies are embraced by teacher candidates. Employing a mixed-method approach, the study utilized qualitative data collection techniques to review existing literature. Focused on learning processes through the lens of cognitive psychology, this study provides practical recommendations for the effective application of strategies such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and active engagement in educational settings. The results demonstrate that cognitive approach-based teaching strategies not only enhance the quality of instruction but also positively influence student achievement, fostering a deeper level of comprehension. Additionally, while the integration of cognitive strategies bolsters students’ cognitive abilities, further research is recommended to better understand the role and impact of cognitive approaches within Islamic education.
