Optimization of Refrigeration System Performance Using R134a and Al2O3 Nano-Particles
Abstract In the current study, the performance of the refrigeration system was improved by integrating aluminium oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles into the R134a refrigerant. The efficiency of such systems depends on the heat transfer properties of the refrigerant. Aluminium oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles, 20 nm in size, were blended into the R134a refrigerant at three weight concentrations (1% ,2% and 3%). Experiments were conducted under varying conditions, including three refrigerant flow rates (3,6 and 10 LPH), two evaporator heat loads (14°C and 31°C), and two ambient temperatures (20°C, and 29°C). Al2O3 nanoparticles significantly improved the thermo physical and heat transfer characteristics of the refrigerant, resulting in enhanced system performance
