The prevalence of blindness in India is 0.36% according to the NPCB & VI 2019 survey. However, there is limited data on the extent of avoidable causes of blindness among tribal populations.Conducting a situational analysis is essential for planning improved eye care services at the basehospital. Gaining insight into the prevalence of cataracts and other vision-related issues amongindividuals aged over 50 in the area will help design and implement community-based programsmore effectively and with greater focus.
