Constructing an Empirical Framework to Estimate the Temperature of Winding Coils in Wind Generators
The research focuses on developing an empirical model to predict winding coil temperatures in permanent magnet wind generators, aiming to enhance safety and efficiency. With rising demand for renewable energy, addressing overheating in wind generators is crucial, as it can lead to severe damage or fire hazards. The study utilized a custom experimental setup involving a 1000-watt wind generator to gather data on voltage, current, and temperature, which was then analyzed using the Response Surface Method (RSM). CFD simulations in ANSYS Fluent validated the thermal behavior of the generator. The final empirical model, incorporating variables like voltage, current, and environmental conditions, achieved a high accuracy, with prediction errors under 10%. This work contributes to improving wind generator safety through better temperature management strategies.
