Synthesis of biogenic silver nanoparticles employing Withania somnifera and antimicrobial efficacy against selected multidrug-resistant bacteria
Antibiotic-resistant infections often result in long-term or ineffective antimicrobial therapy and worldwide adverse treatment outcomes. Nanotechnological techniques for infectious disease treatments and drug delivery systems have significantly advanced in recent years. The development of biogenic silver nanoparticles using different organisms has been predicted as a novel alternate therapy to infectious disease treatments in recent years. The biological synthesis of silver nanoparticles involves reducing and stabilising metal ions. Plants produce a variety of secondary metabolites with strong reducing potentials and act as a desirable source for the manufacture of silver nanoparticles.
