Role of Higher Education in Advancing Digital Agriculture

Abstract: The global population is growing, and changing weather patterns are increasing pressure on agriculture to produce more food while using more substantial resources. Digital agriculture is merging digital technologies into the agricultural industry and has developed as a promising panacea to address these challenges. Educational centers play a central role in advancing digital agriculture by delivering education, training, research, development of software, and collaboration opportunities. This research reviews the role of higher education in advancing digital agriculture. It explores the origins of digital agriculture, higher education's contributions to tutoring, collaboration, research, challenges, and future directions. This study concludes that higher education institutions can play a critical role in shaping a transformative digital agricultural future that assures sustainable food production for a growing population while eco-friendly practices and boosting economic growth.
