Coherence-Based Model Predictions for Galactic Star Forming Ring Structures

This paper provides precision predictions for star-forming ring structures in the Milky Way, M94 (NGC 4736), and NGC 1512, based on the coherence-dark coherence resonance model. Using a resonance-based formulation, the radial spacing of primary and secondary rings is calculated and compared with observational data, showing <4% deviation across all galaxies studied. In addition to matching known ring locations, the model predicts the presence of unobserved inner rings at specific radii (e.g., 0.9–1.1 kpc in M94 and NGC 1512), providing concrete targets for JWST near-infrared imaging and Roman Space Telescope deep-field surveys. By modeling ring formation as a function of coherence field dynamics, this study extends the predictive capabilities of the coherence framework and offers testable, high-precision forecasts for ring morphology in spiral galaxies.
