This study seeks to determine the desirability of the 1000-unitMehr Housing project in Qaen City. The research methodology is purposiveand analytical-exploratory in its approach. The target population includesall residents of this project, and a sample of 384 people was estimatedusing Cochran's formula. Quantitative data analysis was carried out usingnumerical means, and a T-test analysis was performed using SPSS software. The results further show that in addition to economic and security aspects, other aspects such as facilities, accessibility and transportation, management and maintenance, lighting and ventilation, view andlandscape, physical, environmental, neighbourhood relations and sense ofbelonging were reported as unsatisfactory in the Qaen Mehr HousingProject. This outcome is not only due to the general macro-economic andurban development policies but also to the failure to take into account thepreferences and needs of the residents in terms of social, psychological, identity and physical aspects.
