Saraina deltshevi Azarkina 2009

Saraina cf. deltshevi Azarkina, 2009 Fig. 45A, B Saraina deltshevi Azarkina, 2009: 293, figs 2–8 (♂). Material examined. MOZAMBIQUE: Tete: leg. C.F. Roewer, 1♂ (SMF 9695 A). Description. For a description of both sexes see Azarkina (2009). Palpal organ as in Fig. 45A, B. Distribution. Hitherto known from western Africa, recorded from Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Nigeria. This is the first record from southern Africa. Remarks. The single male specimen recorded has a palpal morphology most similar to Saraina deltshevi Azarkina, 2009, particularly the dorsally directed dorsal tibial apophysis, but differs slightly in the position of the ventral and medial apophyses, which are in the same plane in lateral view (Fig. 45B), whereas the medial apophysis of S. deltshevi is slightly more proximally placed on the tibia (Azarkina 2009: fig. 3). However, we refrain from describing this as a new species until the female can be discovered.
