Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Melalui Model Group Investigation (GI) Pada Materi Klasifikasi Makhluk Hidup Kelas VII Mts Sa Miftahul Ulum Panti Jember

This researchyaims to improve students' criticalithinking skills throughtthe Group Investigationl(GI) learning model on the classification of living things. The research used was Classroom Action Research (PTK) in two cycles. The research subjects were 17 class VII students at MTS SA Miftahul Ulum Panti Jember in the odd semester 2022/2023. Data collectiont used in this researchsconsisted of observation, interviews, documentation and tests. The results of this research: In cycle I, the results of the critical thinking ability test of 17 students showed a score of 59.375%. In cycle II there was an increase of 20.95%, namely to 80.51%. The achievement of each indicator of students' critical thinking skills has increased, with details of the indicators of questioning problems reaching 85.29%, testing the truth of problems 77.94%, assessing 82.35%, and making decisions 75%. So that the application of group investigation type cooperative learning can improve the critical thinking skills of class VII MTS SA Miftahul Ulum students.
