Registered Reports: How to publish regardless of the results
Description: Researchers across disciplines are increasingly pre-registering their hypotheses, methods, and analysis plans before they collect or analyze the data. In the Registered Reports publishing format, preregistration is submitted to a journal and after undergoing peer review, it can receive in-principle acceptance for publishing. This means that regardless of the results, the authors have preliminary acceptance of their work in the journal they wish to publish. How did Registered Reports start, what is their purpose, how well do they work for early career researchers and what do research funders think about this publishing format? In this Open Access Week 2024 session we heard from three invited guests about their perspectives on the topic. In the current collection, we share their presentations from the event. Speakers: Prof. Christopher Chambers, Cardiff University Dr Emma Henderson, Department of Transport, London, UK Jan-Ole Hesselberg, Stiftelsen Dam Event organizers: Host: Agata Bochynska, UiO Leif Longva, UiT John David Didriksen, UiS
