DESCRIPTION OF THE CATEGORY of CASE IN THE GRAMMARS OF A. KH. VOSTOKOV AND V. A. POLOVTSOV

The subject of research in this article is the category of case in the grammars of Alexander Khristoforovich Vostokov and Viktor Andreevich Polovtsov, published in the first half of the 19th century. A. Kh. Vostokov is known for his significant contribution to the development of linguistics as an independent science and to the study of the Old Bulgarian language and its monuments. His works on Russian grammar played an important role and had a strong influence on the first manuals created by the enlighteners of the Bulgarian National Revival. The grammars of V. A. Polovtsov did not achieve great popularity, probably because they imitate the grammar of A. Kh. Vostokov and N. I. Grech to a great extent.
