NUCLEIC ACIDS

Nucleic acids are the basis of life, necessary for the storage and transmission of genetic information, protein synthesis and regulation of many cellular processes. This article discusses the structure and functions of the two main types of nucleic acids: deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA). The article also highlights the importance of nucleic acids for understanding heredity, evolution and the development of life.
