Nieznane przedstawienie Wacława Seweryna Rzewuskiego – przyczynek do ikonografii emira

The article introduces a previously unknown image of Wacław Seweryn “Emir” Rzewuski, a notable figure whose travels to the Middle East and his seminal work Sur les chevaux orientaux et provenants des races orientales have secured him an important place in both Polish and global cultural history. The study analyzes an oil painting on a metal sheet through the lenses of style, iconographic motifs and potential artistic influences. It also offers a classification and examination of the existing visual representations of this Polish nobleman. Taken together, these findings allow for a proposed dating of the painting and the identification of a possible author.
