«Ратиборова чадь» Владимира Мономаха: формирование ближайшего окружения переяславского князя
At the time of Prince Volodymyr Monomakh moving to Pereiaslavl, he already had a highly professional team of closest assistants, who experienced with him both the joy of victories and the bitterness of defeats. Monomakh’s first mentors and advisers were much older than the young prince, but over the years more people joined his entourage. Thus, by the middle of the 1090s his inner circle consisted of three main categories of persons: appointed by Vsevolod Yaroslavych; inherited after the death of the father; raised and trained by Monomakh in Chernihiv and Pereiaslavl who attended the junior druzhyna school. The close and inseparable connection of this compact group with the mobile princely estate was one of the reasons for the multi-ethnic and often non-Slavic origin of many of its representatives.
