Development of a Dual-Phase Cryogen Pump for Cryo-Liquid Transfer and Purification in Liquid Noble Detectors
Purification in liquid noble particle detectors is essential to their operation. Many methods require active or periodic pumping to maintain purity of cryogenic media. Existing pump systems can be prohibitively expensive, large, or difficult to service for small-scale experiments. The novel design of the Dual-Phase Cryogen Pump (DCP) offers superior scalability, low build cost, and comparable flow rates. Our prototype achieved a steady flow rate of 1.8±0.2LPM while maintaining minimal temperature fluctuations (3Kavg) demonstrating a viable solution for 0.6% of the commercial model cost.
