Little Colorado River Humpback Chub Monitoring: stories from the early years
We relate a story about early monitoring of Humpback Chub (Gila cypha) monitoring in the Little Colorado River in Grand Canyon that we feel illustrates that grassroots, low-budget efforts by dedicated researchers and volunteers have potential to kickstart substantial and sustainable long-term conservation progress. Lack of substantial budgets need not stop any conservation biologist from initiating what they believe to be important conservation efforts for their favorite species.
