Educational Exclusion: Closing the Higher Ed Gap for Undocumented Students

For her human rights capstone project, Paloma Ronis von Helms developed and created an educational booklet for undocumented high school students in California detailing their educational options for pursuing higher education and vocational schools. She included information on California educational laws, federal resources, and community advocacy. This booklet was paired with an op-ed article reflecting on Ronis von Helms’ experiences volunteering with migrant youth at Sequoia High School in Redwood City, CA to advocate for expanded access to higher education for undocumented students across the country.
