Research on improved design of transformer multi-conductor transmission line model solution

The multi-conductor transmission line (MTL) model is an effective tool to simulate and analyze the wave process of transformer windings. When applying the MTL model to simulate and analyze a transformer with a large number of winding turns, it is necessary to manually build an equivalent model of the winding in finite element analysis software to solve the capacitance parameters, which is workload-intensive and cumbersome. In addition, the decoupling matrix of the frequency domain solution equation of the MTL model is an asymmetric complex matrix, and the numerical calculation is unstable and the program running time is slow. Therefore, based on ActiveX technology, the MATLAB is used to control ANSYS (ansys electronics) to automate modeling in only 33 s, so as to reduce manual intervention and improve adaptivity. This paper simulates and analyzes the influence of distribution parameters on the solution results of MTL equations, it is found that the conductivity parameters have no effect on the solution results. By ignoring the conductivity parameters and transforming the eigenvalues and eigenvectors, the original asymmetric complex matrix diagonalization decoupling problem is converted into a sparse real symmetric matrix diagonalization decoupling problem, which reduces the program running time by 49.919%, and improves the efficiency of the program. The work done in this paper will no longer split the transformer MTL model solving work into a whole, for different windings, MTL equation can be solved only by modifying the parameters, without repeated work, as well as shorten the running time of program, which provides the convenience for engineering applications.
