Kirigami Inspired Flexible Temperature Sensor; Combating Digital Illiteracy in Rural Virginia Communities: Observational Study of Successful Initiatives.

The relationship between my technical capstone project and my STS research paper is that they both focus on technological access, usability, and the role of human needs in shaping technological innovation. My capstone project involved designing a wearable temperature sensor, and my STS research paper examined how broadband infrastructure and digital literacy initiatives have affected rural Virginia communities. In both cases, successful technology design and implementation relies on understanding the specific needs of the users and addressing the social factors influencing how technology is accepted and used. I used the Social Construction of Technology (SCOT) framework in my STS research paper to guide me in understanding the importance of stakeholder perspectives in determining the success of any technology, including those developed in my capstone.
