The Functions of Neighborhood Schools
This project consists of guided readings, slides, and assignments, formatted as a college-level course. It moves through three units, which focus respectively on academic, neighborhood, and political aspects of schools. The course challenges would-be students to ask: What and whom are schools for? What are their manifest effects and how do these match up with their intentions? And who makes the decisions that affect this?
