The Art Collection of the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture
Review: The Art Collection of the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture is a database presenting the holdings of the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture, housed at the Louvre in Paris, in 1715 and 1781. It accumulates records for 653 fine and decorative art objects acquired by the Academy and enables the user to curate one's own experience in French or in English, providing a singular resource for anyone researching eighteenth century French art and institutions. The project is a collaboration between the German Center for Art History (Deutsches Forum für Kunstgeschichte, or DFK Paris), the Centre Dominique-Vivant Denon (Louvre), the Institut national d'histoire de l'art (INHA), and the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
