Pradhan Mantri Fashal Bima Yojana
Draughts, floods, and other natural disasters can cause losses in India's agriculture industry. As a result, it's critical to shield farmers from these types of losses and provide them with the means to continue operating profitably until the following crop season. Around half of India's workforce is employed in agriculture and related industries, which make up one of the most significant economic sectors in the nation and contribute close to 16% of GDP. Since independence, the government has implemented a number of programs in the best interests of the nation's farmers, realizing the importance of the agriculture industry. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), a sort of "One nation-One scheme" that was introduced in 2016, is the most current program. PMFBY helps stabilize the income of the covered farmers and offers a broad insurance cover against crop failure. This study aims to examine the scheme's conceptual framework and determine the advantages of PMFBY inside the nation. This type of descriptive study focuses on the unique features of the program and how it might benefit Indian farmers in the future.
