Construction\nof a\nBorophene-Based Hybrid Aerogel for\nMultifunctional Applications
As a novel approach to pursue high-performance\nmultifunctional\nmaterials, the structural design of cutting-edge two-dimensional (2D)\nmaterials has ignited substantial interests. Borophene, an emerging\nmember in the realm of 2D materials, exhibits crucial attributes,\nincluding high theoretical carrier density, electrical conductivity,\nmagnetism, and high aspect ratio, rendering it highly promising for\ndiverse applications. Yet, the exploration of porous structural configurations\nof borophene remains untapped. Addressing this gap, our study focuses\non the fabrication of a multifunctional borophene hybrid foam (CMB-foam).\nThis hybridization leverages the exceptional multifunctionality of\nMXene alongside borophene within a three-dimensional porous framework,\nfacilitating reflection and absorption of electromagnetic waves, thereby\ndemonstrating remarkable electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding\ncapabilities. Moreover, this structural configuration exposes an enlarged\nsurface area, thus shortening the transport pathway for electrolyte\nions, leading to an excellent energy storage performance. Additionally,\n CMB-foam performs well in thermal management and thermal insulation.\nThese findings underscore the potential of borophene-based materials\nin multifunctional applications and offer valuable insights into further\nperformance explorations in this domain.
