Key criteria for making decisions by prosumers to use the technology for power balancing in households
The objective of this article is to investigate what criteria are used by prosumers to make decisions regarding the use of power balancing technology. The acceptance process begins with the acquisition of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) installations, followed by knowledge acquisition, technology acquisition, technology use, and the development of power balancing system. The level of household involvement is dependent on the perception of benefits. To identify expected technology features, the article discusses the results of a survey verifying functionalities used by prosumers and their expectations. The features of power balancing technology are aligned with customer needs. Energy regulations are specific to each country and are not subject to short-term changes; however, they can be adapted over the long term. Customer engagement is dynamic, evolving based on their needs. After analyzing features of used power balancing technology, the article proposes how a decision model for power balancing technology can be utilized.
