S<sub>N</sub>Ar Reactions Using Continuous Plug Flow...<i>in Aqueous Biphasic\nMedia</i>

New plug-flow opportunities\nfor carrying out S<sub>N</sub>Ar reactions\nare disclosed using water mixed with the green and separable/recyclable\ncosolvent 2-MeTHF. This approach enables C–O, C–N, and\nC–S bond formations. Several features characteristic of this\nsustainable technology are highlighted, such as recycling of the aqueous\nreaction medium, applications to several intermediates en route to\nnumerous active pharmaceutical ingredients, and a new “flow-to-batch-to-flow”\nsequence of reactions demonstrating the possibilities for both time\nand pot economies to be realized.
