Cu-Catalyzed\nHydrodechlorination of Unactivated Alkyl\nChlorides Using Diisobutylaluminum Hydride
A copper-catalyzed hydrodechlorination of primary, secondary,\nand\ntertiary alkyl chlorides using diisobutylaluminum hydride is reported.\nThis catalytic system offers a broad substrate scope, high yields,\nand good functional group tolerance. Mechanistic investigations indicated\nthat the reaction predominantly proceeds via a radical pathway, as\nsupported by radical clock experiments. Importantly, this study provides\na new approach for the selective hydrodechlorination of unactivated\nalkyl chlorides and expands the utility of Cu-hydride catalysis in\nsustainable chemical synthesis.
