A new species and three new records of Archidispus Karafiat (Acari: Scutacaridae) from Iran, with a key to Iranian species
A new species of scutacarid mites, Archidispus hajiqanbari Faizi & Khaustov sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on phoretic females found on the carabid beetle Anisodactylus binotatus Fabricius (Coleoptera: Carabidae) from Iran. This new species is closely related to Archidispus masatakai, but can be distinguished from the latter by smooth and basally thickened, but long and distally thin setae c2, and smooth setae ps1–ps3. Also, three species are recorded for the first time from Iran: A. carabidophilus (Sevastianov), A. pterostichi Rack, and A. intermissus (Karafiat). A key to Iranian Archidispus species is also provided.
