Tele neurology challenges in parkinson’s disease care: Addressing complexity

In the field of telecommunication, teleneurology is one such focused specialty that deals with the provision of findings and treatments in neurology provided through virtual interactions. For instance, it has proven to work well in the emergency treatment and after-care assessment of convulsions and migraines, among other long-term brain conditions. With some entities of neurology, such as Parkinson’s, the yield and applicability of a virtual encounter are low. Very in-depth body examination by palpating musculature and neurologic procedures forms a basis for monitoring the effects of medicine. The current review article is based on two approaches of teleneurology that found its limitation. Suggestions for change were made in order to see if improvements could be realized in the validity of brain scans and, therefore, support benefits of value in the area of "artificially intelligent-assisted teleneurology," which refers to the use of wearables and biosensors along with AI-assisted handling of data, and "hybrid teleneurology," which involves changing the procedure of virtual coming across. Introduction Teleneurology, which is the application of telemedicine in neurology, has significant potential in providing access to care for patients with complex neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s disease (PD) but it faces several challenges that impede its effective execution. This review paper identifies these challenges and suggests possible solutions to enhance the role of teleneurology in PD management. Among those challenges, some of the most important are: technological, which consists of inappropriate access to the internet and low levels of digital literacy among older patients; clinical, that no proper physical examination or disease progression monitoring is feasible; and those arranged on a systemic level, which include a lack of telehealth protocols and commoned reimbursement policies.
