Flexible\nIntegrated Air Pressure Sensors for Monitoring\nPositive and Negative Pressure Distribution
Barometric\npressure monitoring typically depends on conventional\nrigid microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) for single-point measurements.\nHowever, applications such as fluid dynamics require mapping barometric\npressure distribution to study phenomena such as pressure variations\non an aircraft wing during flight. In this study, we developed a mechanically\nflexible, multichannel air pressure sensor sheet using laser-induced\ngraphene (LIG). This air pressure sensor sheet is designed to be mechanically\nflexible, allowing it to conform to nonplanar objects. First, the\ncrystallinity change of LIG is studied by monitoring the bottom and\ntop surfaces, revealing the presence of multilayered graphene and\namorphous-like carbon in the formation of LIG. This explains the crystallinity\nchange before and after the transfer process. Using LIG with optimal\nstructures, negative and positive pressure detection is achieved,\nenabling its use as an air pressure sensor. Finally, as a proof-of-concept\nfor the multichannel air pressure sensor sheet, the pressure distribution\non the surface of an aircraft wing model is successfully mapped out.
