Iridium-Catalyzed\nChemo- and Enantioselective Hydrogenation\nof Cycloalkenones to Access Chiral Cycloallylalcohols
A method for the efficient synthesis of chiral cycloallylalcohols\nhas been developed, achieving excellent yields and enantioselectivities\n(>99% conversion, turnover number of ≤50 000, and\n>99%\nee). This approach accommodates a variety of cycloalkenones with different\naryl substituents and is tolerant of a broad range of functional groups.\nThe synthetic utility of this method has been demonstrated through\ngram-scale synthesis and subsequent transformations into diverse enantioenriched\noxygen-containing compounds.
