Medellin Protocol for Matryoshka Therapy
This protocol aims to explore the use of Matryoshka Dolls to gain insight into unconscious thoughts, utilizing the Matryoshka nesting Dolls to represent various levels of consciousness. Psychodynamic theory provides a robust framework for understanding unconscious processes and childhood influences [1, 2]. Recently, there has been an increased interest in incorporating symbolic tools into therapeutic practices [3]. Matryoshka Dolls, also known as Russian nesting Dolls, symbolize the various layers of the psyche [4]. This paper surveys how Matryoshka psychotherapy employs these Dolls to facilitate the exploration of distinct aspects of the self. It offers therapists innovative methods to help clients navigate their emotions and personality through visual narratives. By harnessing the symbolic power of Matryoshka Dolls, this protocol aims to provide new insights into the therapeutic process and enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions [5, 6].
