Experimental Study of Window Regulator Bumper Stop for Noise Reduction through Impact Energy Method
This study optimizes the bumper stop in an automotive window regulator system to reduce noise during lower stall conditions. Twelve design concepts were analyzed using finite element simulations to assess internal energy absorption as a noise indicator. Concept 11 demonstrated the best performance and was fabricated for testing, achieving a noise reduction from 70 dBA to 61 dBA. The study also evaluated elastomeric materials based on mechanical properties to ensure durability under automotive conditions.
